Bible Proves Giants (Nephilim) to be Hybrid Fallen Angels

--[ 8 MIN READ]

In most Christian circles the subject of Fallen Angels copulating with human women is strictly taboo. They will scorn you with quite unresearched and eisegetical “Proofs”. These superficial proofs are easily debunked.

But fact is, the idea was very prevalent in ancient thought, and was widely accepted by early Christian writers as well. This interpretation is not a modern invention but has strong ancient roots, though it was later challenged by other interpretations during the early centuries of Christianity.

Bible Proof Texts

Justin Martyr (100 AD)
In The Second Apology to the Senate at Rome

“God committed the care of men and of all things under heaven to angels… but the angels transgressed this appointment, and were captivated by love of women…”

Irenaeus (c. 130–202 AD)
In Against Heresies, Book IV, he teaches the same view.

Tertullian (c. 155–240 AD)
In On the Apparel of Women, Book I, chapter 2, Tertullian explains how the sons of God were angels and caused human corruption by mixing with women.

Lactantius (c. 250–325 AD)
In Divine Institutes, he echoes this belief and attributes some pagan myths of demigods to the truth of Genesis 6.

Josephus (Historian, 1st Century AD)
In Antiquities of the Jews 1.3.1, Josephus clearly says:

“…for many angels of God accompanied with women, and begat sons that proved unjust, and despisers of all that was good…”

1Enoch to be inspired or not, you must agree it was written 300-200 BC and that alone means the idea of 200 Fallen Angels called “Watchers” copulating with human women existed.

The Book of Giants is an ancient Hebrew writing associated with the Book of Enoch, expanding on the narrative in Genesis 6:1–4 about the Nephilim, the offspring of the fallen angels (Watchers) and human women. Preserved mainly in Aramaic fragments from the Dead Sea Scrolls, it tells how these giants corrupted mankind, brought violence to the earth, and received terrifying visions of divine judgment. The giants, like Gilgamesh and Ohyah, try to understand the meaning of their dreams and seek forgiveness through Enoch, but their fate is sealed. While not part of the biblical canon, this book reflects ancient understandings of spiritual rebellion before the Flood and complements the judgment narrative found in 1 Enoch and Genesis.

By the 4th and 5th centuries, Church leaders like Augustine began to reject the angelic view and proposed that “sons of God” referred to the godly line of Seth, and “daughters of men” the ungodly line of Cain. This Sethite interpretation became dominant in the Roman Catholic tradition, partly to avoid angelic embodiment which conflicted with later doctrines of angels being purely spiritual.

Jude 1:6–7 strongly supports the angelic interpretation: “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains…”

That passage connects their sin with the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah, implying it was sexual in nature — which fits with Genesis 6.

This makes a strong connection to end times prophecy.

Mat 24:37  But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:38  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
Mat 24:39  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Ancient Christians Believed

On genome research we are like a caveman staring at an airplane. the “Junk DNA” turns out to not be junk. We don’t know what causes cells to divide (exactly the same as cancer). We do not know where “life” comes from.

“Thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”
— Psalm 139:13–14

If Spiritual Beings can’t produce fruit in a human woman… Then how was Jesus conceived?

Here are a few passages concerning the hybrid Nephilim:

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

There were giants [Nephilim] in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them…”
— Genesis 6:1–4

The term “sons of God” in Hebrew is בְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים (bene ha-Elohim), which always refers to divine or heavenly beings in the Old Testament.

The offspring of this union were Nephilim (giants)—a term tied to massive size, violence, and unnatural origins

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before YHWH, and Satan came also among them.”
— Job 1:6 and 2:1

“When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy…”
— Job 38:7

The exact same phrase, bene ha-Elohim, is used here and clearly refers to angelic beings, not human men.

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha… going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example…”
— Jude 1:6–7

Jude directly links this angelic sin to sexual perversion, paralleling it with Sodom.

The Greek word “oikētērion” for “habitation” is used elsewhere to describe the dwelling place of spiritual bodies (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:2).

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and delivered them into chains of darkness…
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah…”
— 2 Peter 2:4–5

This links a particular group of angels to a pre-Flood judgment—clearly referring to Genesis 6.

“And there we saw the giants [Nephilim], the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers…”
— Numbers 13:33

The same word Nephilim is used here. While Genesis says “and also after that” (Gen. 6:4), this implies either a second incursion or the Nephilim survived the Flood somehow (some believe through the wives on the Ark).

1 Enoch 6–10 – Historical Confirmation (Extra-Biblical but Cited by Jude)
While not Scripture, the Book of Enoch greatly influenced Jude (he quotes Enoch 1:9 directly in Jude 14–15).

It describes in detail how 200 Watcher angels descended on Mount Hermon, took wives, and begat the giant Nephilim, who corrupted the earth and led to the Flood.

“And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants… whose height was three thousand ells…”
— 1 Enoch 7:2

Jude and Peter are clearly referencing this tradition, giving it strong support.

The use of Tartarus (a term from Greek mythology for the deepest pit of the underworld) is significant—it implies a unique punishment for an extreme sin, such as taking human wives.

Daniel’s Prophecy in 2:43

Dan 2:43  Whereas thou sawest the iron mixed with earthenware, they shall be mingled with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave together, as the iron does not mix itself with earthenware.

Notice it doesn’t say “seed of men mingled with the seed of men”. This “seed” does not cleave to mens seed. This is clearly speaking of NOT MENS SEED. It cannot fully produce because they are different KINDS.

This “mixing” strongly suggests unnatural unions (e.g., AI, hybrid DNA, genetic modification). This verse doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be sexual. But taken with the totality of other scripture and ancient authors, it looks very probable.

Another thing to consider: The statue in Daniels dream is a prophecy about BABYLON. Rome never conquered Babylon.

VERY STRONG CLUE:

Mat 24:37  But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:38  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
Mat 24:39  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The flood came to destroy the Nephilim bloodline. They were trying to pollute the bloodline of man to prevent the Messiah from coming.

Measurements of Giants in scripture

A cubit is about 18 inches…

Deu 3:11  For only Og the king of Basan was left of the Raphain: behold, his bed was a bed of iron; behold, it is in the chief city of the children of Ammon; the length of it is nine cubits, and the breadth of it four cubits, according to the cubit of a man.
(13′ 6″ x 6′)
Why did the author qualify the “Cubit” (from the elbow to the finger tips) as being from a MAN?

And there came out from the camp of the Philistines a champion named Goliath of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. He had a helmet of bronze on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. And he had bronze armor on his legs, and a javelin of bronze slung between his shoulders. The shaft of his spear was like a weaver’s beam, and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron (1 Samuel 17:4-7).

If you are thinking 10 to almost 14 feet tall is too big to be a human, I would be inclined to agree with you. But this is what the scripture says.

. . . And Ishbi-benob, one of the descendants of the giants, whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of bronze, and who was armed with a new sword, thought to kill David. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid and attacked the Philistine and killed him . . . Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Saph, who was one of the descendants of the giants. And there was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, the Bethlehemite, struck down Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam. And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David’s brother, struck him down. These four were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants (2 Samuel 21:15-22).

The story of giants starts with the mysterious Nephilim in Genesis 6:4, who were wiped out by the flood. However, the Nephilim are linked with the later Anakim and Rephaim. Ten of the 12 Israelite spies feared going into the land of Canaan because they saw giant Anakim there, and Numbers 13:33 says they came from the Nephilim. Deuteronomy 2:11 says the Anakim were part of the giant group known as the Rephaim. And while in the wilderness, Moses defeated the giant Og of Bashan, who was one of the remaining Rephaim. After wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, Joshua and Caleb—the two faithful spies—then drove out the giant Anakim from Canaan. They “devoted” the Anakim to destruction, though they left some Anakim in Philistine territory (Joshua 11:21-22). One of those cities was Gath, from where Goliath hailed.

Thus the giant Goliath represented not just the Philistines, but the dreaded Anakim—which even Joshua could not fully defeat. Goliath and his fellow Anakim were also considered Rephaim (2 Samuel 21:15-22; cf. Deuteronomy 2:11). And if the Anakim were descended from the Nephilim (as Numbers 13:33 claims) and the Nephilim were the children of fallen angels and women (Genesis 6:4), then this would make Goliath the biological offspring of the serpent (Genesis 3:15). Goliath’s connection to the Nephilim is strengthened by his description as a gibbor, a “mighty” one (1 Samuel 17:51; cf. Genesis 6:4). Furthermore, Goliath wore serpent-like “scale armor” (1 Samuel 17:5). This was a battle between the seed of the woman, David, and the seed of the serpent, the giant gibborim-Nephilim-Anakim-Rephaim warrior named Goliath. By defeating Goliath and his relatives, David completed the conquest that Joshua began.
