Discipled by Christ -(Self Controlled and Disciplined)

Avoiding the ruts of our carnal mind

Matthew 6:33  But as for you, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Proverbs 9:10  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the counsel of His holy ones is understanding: for to know the law is the character of a sound mind.

Matthew 22:37  And Jesus said to him, ” ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38  This is the first and greatest commandment;
39  And the second one is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Matthew 19:16  Now at that time, one came to Him and said, “Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”
17  And He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except one—God. But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Luke 10:25  Now a certain doctor of the law suddenly stood up, tempting Him and saying, “Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26  And He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
27  Then he answered and said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
28  And He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you shall live.”

Deuteronomy 5:6  I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
7  Thou shalt have no other gods before my face.
8  Thou shalt not make to thyself an image, nor likeness of any thing, whatever things are in the heaven above, and whatever are in the earth beneath, and whatever are in the waters under the earth.
9  Thou shalt not bow down to them, nor shalt thou serve them; for I am the Lord thy God, a jealous God, visiting the sins of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation to them that hate me,
10  and doing mercifully to thousands of them that love me, and that keep my commandments.
11  Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord thy God will certainly not acquit him that takes his name in vain.
12  Guard the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God commanded thee.
13  Six days thou shalt work, and thou shalt do all thy works;
14  but on the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt do in it no work, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, thine ox, and thine ass, and all thy cattle, and the stranger that sojourns in the midst of thee; that thy man-servant may rest, and thy maid, and thine ox, as well as thou.
15  And thou shalt remember that thou wast a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord thy God brought thee out thence with a mighty hand, and a high arm: therefore the Lord appointed thee to keep the sabbath day and to sanctify it.
16  Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God commanded thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest live long upon the land, which the Lord thy God gives thee.
17  Thou shalt not commit murder
18  Thou shalt not commit adultery
19  Thou shalt not steal
20  Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
21  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife; thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, nor his field, nor his man-servant, nor his maid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any beast of his, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

Ecclesiastes 12:13  Hear the end of the matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: this is for all men.

Luk 14:25  And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
Luk 14:26  If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Luk 14:27  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luk 14:28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

Luk 14:29  Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Luk 14:30  Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
Luk 14:31  Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Luk 14:32  Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
Luk 14:33  So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

Luk 9:57  And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
Luk 9:58  And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Luk 9:59  And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
Luk 9:60  Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
Luk 9:61  And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
Luk 9:62  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Mat 10:34  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36  And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
Mat 10:37  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:39  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Rewards

Mat 10:40  He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Mat 10:41  He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
Mat 10:42  And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

1Co 9:23  Now I do this for the sake of the gospel, that I might be a fellow partaker with you.
1Co 9:24  Don’t you know that those who run a race all run, but only one receives the prize? That is the way you are to run in order that you may obtain the prize.
1Co 9:25  For everyone who is striving for mastery controls himself in all things. Of course, they do this so that they may receive a corruptible crown; but we are striving for an incorruptible crown.
1Co 9:26  I therefore so run, not as one who is uncertain; so also I fight, not as beating the air.
1Co 9:27  But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, after preaching to others, I myself might be rejected.

Gal 5:16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Gal 5:18  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Col 3:1  Therefore, if you have been raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.
Col 3:2  Set your affection on the things that are above, and not on the things that are on the earth.
Col 3:3  For you have died, and your life has been hid together with Christ in God.
Col 3:4  When Christ, Who is our life, is manifested, then you also shall be manifested with Him in glory.
Col 3:5  Therefore, put to death your members which are on earth—sexual immorality, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desires, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Col 3:6  Because of these things, the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,
Col 3:7  Among whom you also once walked, when you were living in these things.
Col 3:8  But now, you should also put off all these things: wrath, indignation, malice, blasphemy, and foul language from your mouth.
Col 3:9  Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man together with his deeds,
Col 3:10  And have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him Who created him;
Col 3:11  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian nor Scythian, slave nor free; but Christ is all things, and in all.
Col 3:12  Put on then, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, deep inner affections, kindness, humility, meekness and longsuffering;
Col 3:13  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so also you should forgive.
Col 3:14  And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
Col 3:15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you were called into one body, and be thankful.
Col 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Col 3:17  And in everything—whatever you do in word or in deed—do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

2Ti 1:6  For this reason, I admonish you to stir up the gift of God that is in you by the laying on of my hands.
2Ti 1:7  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of sound-mindedness.
2Ti 1:8  Therefore, you should not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner; but jointly suffer with me for the sake of the gospel, according to the power of God,
2Ti 1:9  Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling—not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the ages of time;

1Pe 2:15  For so is the will of God, that by doing well yourselves, you may put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
1Pe 2:16  As free, and not using your freedom as a cover for evil, but as bondslaves of God.
1Pe 2:17  Show honor to everyone. Love the brotherhood, revere God and honor the king.
1Pe 2:18  Servants, submit yourselves to your masters with all fear—not only to the good and gentle ones, but also to the harsh and unjust ones;
1Pe 2:19  Because this is acceptable: if, for the sake of conscience toward God, anyone endures sorrows, suffering unjustly.
1Pe 2:20  For what commendation is there if, disobeying and being beaten, you endure it? But if while doing good you endure suffering, this is acceptable with God;
1Pe 2:21  For to this you were called because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow in His footsteps
1Pe 2:22  Who committed no sin; neither was guile found in His mouth;
1Pe 2:23  Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when suffering, He threatened not, but committed Himself to Him Who judges righteously;
1Pe 2:24  Who Himself bore our sins within His own body on the tree, so that we, being dead to sins, may live unto righteousness; by Whose stripes you were healed.
1Pe 2:25  For you were as sheep going astray, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

Php 3:12  Not as though I have already received, or have already been perfected; but I am striving, so that I may also lay hold on that for which I also was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
Php 3:13  Brethren, I do not count myself as having attained; but this one thing I do— forgetting the things that are behind, and reaching forth to the things that are ahead,
Php 3:14  I press toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Php 3:15  So then, let as many as be perfect be of this mind. And if in anything you are otherwise minded, God will reveal even this to you.
Php 3:16  Nevertheless, in regard to that which we have attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
Php 3:17  Brethren, be imitators together of me, and bear in mind those who walk in this way, as you have us for an example.
Php 3:18  (For many walk contrary; I have often told you of them, and I tell you now with weeping, they are the enemies of the cross of Christ;
Php 3:19  Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame; for they mind earthly things.)
Php 3:20  But for us, the commonwealth of God exists in the heavens, from where also we are waiting for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
Php 3:21  Who will transform our vile bodies, that they may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the inner working of His own power, whereby He is able to subdue all things to Himself.

Tit 1:5  For this cause I left you in Crete, so that you might set in order the things that needed to be done, and might ordain elders in every city, as I commanded you:
Tit 1:6  If any man be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not accused of debauchery or rebellion.
Tit 1:7  For it is obligatory that as God’s steward an overseer be blameless, not selfwilled, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not a bully, not greedy for material gain;
Tit 1:8  But hospitable, a lover of good, soundminded, just, holy, self-controlled,
Tit 1:9  Holding steadfastly to the faithful word, according to the teachings of Jesus Christ, so that he may be able both to encourage with sound doctrine and to convict those who are gainsayers.
Tit 1:10  For there are many rebellious and vain talkers and deceivers, especially those from the circumcision party,
Tit 1:11  Whose mouths must be stopped; who are subverting whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of selfish gain.
Tit 1:12  One from among them, even one of their own prophets, said, “Cretans are always liars, and evil, wild beasts, and lazy gluttons.”
Tit 1:13  This testimony is true. For this reason you must rebuke them severely, that they may be sound in the faith;
Tit 1:14  Not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men, which turn away from the truth.
Tit 1:15  To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; rather, both their minds and consciences are defiled.
Tit 1:16  They personally profess to know God, but in their works they deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and reprobate unto every good work.

Luk 14:25  And great multitudes were going with Him; and He turned and said to them,
Luk 14:26  “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers and sisters, and, in addition, his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
Luk 14:27  And whoever does not carry his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple;
Luk 14:28  For which one of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has sufficient for its completion;
Luk 14:29  Lest perhaps, after he has laid its foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
Luk 14:30  Saying, ‘This man began to build, and was not able to finish’?
Luk 14:31  Or what king, when he goes out to engage another king in war, does not first sit down and take counsel, whether he will be able with ten thousand to meet him who is coming against him with twenty thousand?
Luk 14:32  But if not, while his enemy is still far off, he sends ambassadors and desires the terms for peace.
Luk 14:33  In the same way also, each one of you who does not forsake all that he possesses cannot be My disciple.
Luk 14:34  Salt is good; but if the salt becomes tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned?
Luk 14:35  It is fit neither for the land, nor for the manure; but they cast it out. The one who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Rom 13:8  Do not be indebted to anyone for anything, unless it is to love one another. For the one who loves another has fulfilled the law
Rom 13:9  Because it says, “You shall not commit adultery. You shall not commit murder. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. You shall not lust.” And if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, even by this standard: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Rom 13:10  Love does not do any wrong to its neighbor; therefore, love is the full expression of God’s law.
Rom 13:11  Now consider this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour that we should be roused out of sleep; because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
Rom 13:12  The night is almost over, and the day is drawing near; therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Rom 13:13  Let us walk decently, as in the day: not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and emulation.
Rom 13:14  But let us put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and not make any allowance for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

2Co 10:3  For although we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
2Co 10:4  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the overthrowing of strongholds,
2Co 10:5  Casting down vain imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ;

2Ti 2:1  Therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 2:2  And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, these things commit to faithful men, such as will be competent to teach others also.
2Ti 2:3  You, therefore, endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2Ti 2:4  No one who is serving as a soldier becomes involved in civilian pursuits, so that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
2Ti 2:5  Also, if anyone strives to win in the athletic games, he is not crowned unless he has competed lawfully.
2Ti 2:6  Moreover, it is necessary for the husbandman to labor before partaking of the fruits.
2Ti 2:7  Give careful consideration to the things that I am telling you, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
2Ti 2:8  Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from among the dead according to my gospel;
2Ti 2:9  For which I am suffering hardship, even to the point of being imprisoned like a criminal; but the Word of God has not been chained.
2Ti 2:10  Because of this, I endure all things for the sake of the elect in order that they may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
2Ti 2:11  This is a faithful saying: If we have died together with Him, we shall also live together with Him;
2Ti 2:12  If we endure, we shall also reign together with Him; if we deny Him, He will also deny us;
2Ti 2:13  If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful—He cannot deny Himself.
A Worker Approved by God
2Ti 2:14  See that they remain mindful of these things, earnestly charging them in the sight of the Lord not to argue over words that are not profitable in any way, but which lead to the subverting of those who hear.
2Ti 2:15  Diligently study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of the truth;
2Ti 2:16  But avoid profane and vain babblings because they will only give rise to more ungodliness,
2Ti 2:17  And their words will eat away at the body like gangrene; of whom are Hymeneus and Philetus,
2Ti 2:18  Who have gone astray from the truth, claiming that the resurrection has already taken place, and are destroying the faith of some.
2Ti 2:19  Nevertheless, the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who calls upon the name of Christ depart from unrighteousness.”
2Ti 2:20  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; and some are for honor; and some are for dishonor.
2Ti 2:21  Therefore, if anyone has purged himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, having been sanctified and made serviceable to the Master, and having been prepared for every good work.
2Ti 2:22  But flee youthful lusts; and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with those who are calling on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2Ti 2:23  But foolish and ignorant speculations reject, knowing that they engender arguments.
2Ti 2:24  Now it is obligatory that a servant of the Lord not be argumentative, but gentle toward all, competent to teach, forbearing,
2Ti 2:25  In meekness correcting those who set themselves in opposition; if perhaps God may grant them repentance unto acknowledging of the truth,
2Ti 2:26  And that they may wake up and escape from the devil’s snare, who have been taken captive by him to do his will.

Tit 2:1  But as for you, speak the things that befit sound doctrine.
Tit 2:2  Teach the older men to be temperate, serious-minded, respectable, sound in the faith, in love, and in patience;
Tit 2:3  In like manner, teach the older women to be in their behavior as it is fitting for godly women, not slanderers, and not enslaved to much wine, but teachers of that which is right;
Tit 2:4  That they may teach the young women to love their husbands and to love their children;
Tit 2:5  To be modest, chaste, keepers of the home; to be good and to submit themselves to their own husbands, so that the Word of God may not be blasphemed.
Tit 2:6  In the same way, exhort the younger men to be sober-minded.
Tit 2:7  In all things you yourself set an example of good works; in doctrine uncorrupted, serious-minded, and sincere;
Tit 2:8  Use sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that the one who opposes you may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say about you.
Tit 2:9  Admonish slaves to submit themselves to their own masters, to be well pleasing in everything, not answering back;
Tit 2:10  Not misappropriating anything, but showing all good faithfulness; so that they may do credit to the doctrine of our Savior God in everything.
Tit 2:11  For the grace of God, which brings salvation for all men, has appeared;
Tit 2:12  Teaching us that, having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live moderately and righteously and godly in this present world,
Tit 2:13  Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our Savior and great God, Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14  Who gave Himself for us, so that He might redeem us from all lawlessness, and might purify for Himself a unique people, zealous of good works.
Tit 2:15  Speak these things, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

1Pe 5:1  The elders who are among you I exhort, even as a fellow elder, and an eyewitness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker of the glory that is about to be revealed:
1Pe 5:2  Feed the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight not by compulsion, but willingly; not in fondness of dishonest gain, but with an eager attitude;
1Pe 5:3  Not as exercising lordship over your possessions; but by being examples to the flock of God.
1Pe 5:4  And when the Chief Shepherd is manifested, you shall receive an unfading, eternal crown of glory.
1Pe 5:5  In the same manner, you younger men be subject to the older men; and all of you be subject to one another, being clothed with humility because God sets Himself against the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.
1Pe 5:6  Be humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God so that He may exalt you in due time;
1Pe 5:7  Casting all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you.
1Pe 5:8  Be sober! Be vigilant! For your adversary the devil is prowling about as a roaring lion, seeking anyone he may devour.
1Pe 5:9  Whom resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are being fulfilled among your brethren who are in the world.
1Pe 5:10  Now may the God of all grace, Who has called us unto His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, Himself perfect you, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
1Pe 5:11  To Him be the glory and the power into the ages of eternity. Amen.

1Jn 2:15  Do not love the world, nor the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him
1Jn 2:16  Because everything that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pretentious pride of physical life—is not from the Father, but is from the world.
1Jn 2:17  And the world and its lust is passing away, but the one who does the will of God abides forever.

Pro 23:20  Be not a wine-bibber, neither continue long at feasts, and purchases of flesh:
Pro 23:21  for every drunkard and whoremonger shall be poor; and every sluggard shall clothe himself with tatters and ragged garments.

Pro 25:28  As a city whose walls are broken down, and which is unfortified, so is a man who does anything without counsel.

Rom 8:12  So then, brethren, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh;
Rom 8:13  Because if you are living according to the flesh, you shall die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.
Rom 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.
Rom 8:15  Now you have not received a spirit of bondage again unto fear, but you have received the Spirit of sonship, whereby we call out, “Abba, Father.”
Rom 8:16  The Spirit itself bears witness conjointly with our own spirit, testifying that we are the children of God.
Rom 8:17  Now if we are children, we are also heirs—truly, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer together with Him, so that we may also be glorified together with Him.

Rom 12:1  I exhort you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and well pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service.
Rom 12:2  Do not conform yourselves to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind in order that you may prove what is well pleasing and good, and the perfect will of God.

1Co 6:15  Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? MAY IT NEVER BE!
1Co 6:16  WHAT! Don’t you know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? For He says, “The two shall be one flesh.”
1Co 6:17  But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
1Co 6:18  Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man may commit is outside the body, but the one who commits sexual immorality is sinning against his own body.
1Co 6:19  WHAT! Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, which you have within you from God, and you are not your own?
1Co 6:20  For you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Php 1:27  Only conduct yourselves worthily of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you, or am absent, I may hear the reports about you; that you are standing fast in one spirit, striving together with one soul for the faith of the gospel,
Php 1:28  And not being intimidated in any way by those who oppose the gospel; which to them is a demonstration of destruction, but to you of salvation, and this from God;
Php 1:29  Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His name’s sake;

Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Php 4:5  Let your moderation be known to all men; the Lord is near.
Php 4:6  Do not be anxious about anything; but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God in everything;
Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Php 4:9  Whatever things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, you do also; and the God of peace shall be with you.

Heb 11:23  By faith Moses, after he was born, was hidden three months by his parents because they saw that he was a beautiful little child; and they did not fear the king’s decree.
Heb 11:24  By faith Moses, after becoming a great leader, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
Heb 11:25  Choosing to suffer affliction with the people of God, rather than to enjoy the temporary pleasure of sin;
Heb 11:26  For he esteemed the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt because he was looking intently to the reward.
Heb 11:27  By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he persevered, as if he were seeing the One Who is invisible.
Heb 11:28  By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood so that the destroy

Heb 12:1  Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily entraps us; and let us run the race set before us with endurance,
Heb 12:2  Having our minds fixed on Jesus, the Beginner and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that lay ahead of Him endured the cross, although He despised the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Do Not Grow Weary

Heb 12:3  Now meditate deeply on Him Who endured such great hostility of sinners against Himself so that you do not become weary and faint in your minds.
Heb 12:4  You have not yet resisted to the point of losing blood in your struggle against sin.
Heb 12:5  And you have already forgotten the admonition that He addresses to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor grow weary of being reproved by Him;
Heb 12:6  For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He severely disciplines every son whom He receives.”
Heb 12:7  If you endure chastening, God is dealing with you as a Father with His sons. For who is the son whom the Father does not chasten?
Heb 12:8  But if you are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons.
Heb 12:9  Furthermore, we have had our fleshly fathers who chastened us, and we respected them; should we not all the more willingly be subject to the Father of spirits, and live forever?
Heb 12:10  For in the first case, they chastened us for a few days in whatever way seemed good to them; but in the second case, He chastens us for our own benefit that we may be partakers of His holiness.
Heb 12:11  Now truly, no chastisement for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous; nevertheless, afterwards it yields the peaceable fruits of righteousness to those who have been exercised by it.
Heb 12:12  Therefore, lift up the hands that are hanging down, and revive the weakened knees;
Heb 12:13  And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned aside; but let it rather be healed.
Heb 12:14  Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord;
Heb 12:15  Looking diligently, lest anyone fall from the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and through this many be defiled;
Heb 12:16  Lest there be any fornicator or godless person, as Esau, who for one meal sold his birthright;

Heb 12:17  Because you also know that afterwards, when he wished to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; and he found no room for repentance, although he sought it earnestly with tears.
A Kingdom That Cannot Be Shaken
Heb 12:18  For you have not come to the mount that could be touched and that burned with fire, nor to gloominess, and fearful darkness, and the whirlwind;
Heb 12:19  And to the sound of the trumpet, and to the voice of the words, which those who heard, begged that the word not be spoken directly to them.
Heb 12:20  (For they could not endure what was being commanded: “And if even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned, or shot through with an arrow”;
Heb 12:21  And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I am greatly afraid and trembling”.)
Heb 12:22  But you have come to Mount Sion, and to the city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem; and to an innumerable company of angels;
Heb 12:23  To the joyous festival gathering; and to the church of the firstborn, registered in the book of life in heaven; and to God, the Judge of all; and to the spirits of the just who have been perfected;
Heb 12:24  And to Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant; and to sprinkling of the blood of ratification, proclaiming superior things than that of Abel.
Heb 12:25  Beware that you do not refuse to hear Him Who is speaking! For if they did not escape judgment, who refused to hear the One Who was on the earth divinely instructing them, how much more severely will we be judged, if we ourselves apostatize from Him Who speaks from heaven;
Heb 12:26  Whose voice then shook the earth, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but heaven also.”
Heb 12:27  Now the words “once more” signify the removing of the things being shaken, as of things that were made, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Heb 12:28  Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, through which we may serve God in a pleasing manner with reverence and awe;
Heb 12:29  For our God is indeed a consuming fire.

Jas 1:2  Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you are beset by various trials,
Jas 1:3  Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
Jas 1:4  But let endurance have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and complete, not lacking in anything.
Jas 1:5  However, if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives to everyone freely and does not reproach the one who asks; and it shall be given to him.
Jas 1:6  But let him ask in faith, not doubting at all because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven by the wind and tossed to and fro.
Jas 1:7  Do not let that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord.
Jas 1:8  He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Jas 1:9  But let the brother who is in humble circumstances rejoice in his elevation,
Jas 1:10  And let the one who is rich rejoice in his humble condition because, as the flower of the field, he himself will pass away;
Jas 1:11  For the sun rises with its burning heat and dries up the grass, and its flower falls off, and its beautiful appearance perishes. In the same way also shall the rich man wither in his pursuits.
Jas 1:12  Blessed is the man who endures trials because, after he has been proved, he shall receive a crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Jas 1:13  Do not let anyone who is tempted say, “I am being tempted by God” because God is not tempted by evil, and He Himself tempts no one with evil.
Jas 1:14  But each one is tempted when he is drawn away and is enticed by his own lust.
Jas 1:15  And after lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is completely finished, brings forth death.
Jas 1:16  Do not deceive yourselves, my beloved brethren.
Jas 1:17  Every good act of giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with Whom there is no variation, nor shadow of turning.
Jas 1:18  According to His own will, He begat us by the Word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all His created beings.
Jas 1:19  For this reason, my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger
Jas 1:20  Because man’s wrath does not work out God’s righteousness.
Jas 1:21  Therefore, having rid yourselves of all filthiness and all the abounding of wickedness around you, then in meekness accept for yourselves the implanted Word, which is able to save your lives.
Jas 1:22  Then be doers of the Word, and not only hearers, deceiving your own selves

Jas 1:23  Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, this one is like a man considering his natural face in a mirror
Jas 1:24  Who, after looking at himself, went away and immediately forgot what he was like.
Jas 1:25  But the one who has looked into the perfect law of freedom, and has continued in it, this one himself has not become a forgetful hearer, but is a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his actions.
Jas 1:26  If anyone among you considers himself to be religious, and does not control his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is vain.
Jas 1:27  Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

1Pe 1:13  For this reason, be prepared in your minds, be self-controlled, and be fully hoping in the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1Pe 1:14  As obedient children, do not conform yourselves to the former lusts, as you did in your ignorance.
1Pe 1:15  But according as He Who has called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct;
1Pe 1:16  For it is written, “You be holy because I am holy.”
1Pe 1:17  And if you call upon the Father, Who judges according to each man’s work without respect of persons, pass the time of your life’s journey in the fear of God;
1Pe 1:18  Knowing that you were not redeemed by corruptible things, by silver or gold, from your futile way of living, inherited by tradition from your forefathers;
1Pe 1:19  But by the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot;
1Pe 1:20  Who truly was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but was manifested in these last times for your sakes;
1Pe 1:21  Even for you who through Him do believe in God, Who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.
1Pe 1:22  Having purified your lives by obedience to the Truth unto unfeigned brotherly love through the Spirit, love one another fervently with a pure heart.
1Pe 1:23  Foryou have been begotten again, not from corruptible seed, but from incorruptible seed, by the living Word of God, which remains forever.
1Pe 1:24  For all flesh is like grass, and all the glory of man is like the flower of the field; the grass has withered, and its flower has fallen away.
1Pe 1:25  But the Word of the Lord endures forever; and this is the message that was preached to you through the gospel.

Pro 16:33  The fear of the Lord is instruction and wisdom; and the highest honour will correspond therewith. All the works of the humble man are manifest with God; but the ungodly shall perish in an evil day.
Pro 16:33  All evils come upon the ungodly into their bosoms; but all righteous things come of the Lord.

Mat 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mat 16:25  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:26  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Gal 5:13  For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Gal 5:14  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Gal 5:15  But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
Gal 5:26  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Php 2:1  Now then, if there be any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any deep inner affections and compassions,
Php 2:2  Fulfill my joy, that you be of the same mind, having the same love, being joined together in soul, minding the one thing.
Php 2:3  Let nothing be done through contention or vainglory, but in humility, each esteeming the others above himself.
Php 2:4  Let each one look not only after his own things, but let each one also consider the things of others.
Php 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus;
Php 2:6  Who, although He existed in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
Php 2:7  But emptied Himself, and was made in the likeness of men, and took the form of a servant;
Php 2:8  And being found in the manner of man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Php 2:9  Therefore, God has also highly exalted Him and bestowed upon Him a name which is above every name;
Php 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of beings in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Php 2:11  And every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Lights in the World
Php 2:12  So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Php 2:13  For it is God Who works in you both to will and to do according to His good pleasure.
Php 2:14  Do all things without complaints and disputes;
Php 2:15  So that you may be blameless and without offense, innocent children of God in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
Php 2:16  Holding forth the Word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, nor labored in vain.
Php 2:17  But if I am also poured out on the sacrifice and ministration of your faith, I am glad and rejoice together with you all.
Php 2:18  And you in the same way also are glad and rejoice together with me.

1Th 4:1  Now then, as for the rest, brethren, we are beseeching and exhorting you in the Lord Jesus, even as you received from us how you are duty-bound to walk and to please God, that you would abound still more.
1Th 4:2  For you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus;
1Th 4:3  Because this is the will of God—even your sanctification—that you abstain from fornication,
1Th 4:4  And that each of you understand how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
1Th 4:5  (Not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who do not know God)
1Th 4:6  And not to trespass and defraud his brother in this matter because the Lord is the avenger in all these matters, exactly as we also told you and fully testified before.
1Th 4:7  For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to sanctification.
1Th 4:8  Accordingly, the one who rejects these commands is not rejecting man, but God, Who also gave His Holy Spirit to us.
1Th 4:9  Now concerning brotherly love, you have no need for me to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.
1Th 4:10  And you also practice this toward all the brethren who are in all of Macedonia; but we exhort you, brethren, to abound even more in love;
1Th 4:11  And to aspire to live a quiet life, and to tend to your own business, and to work with your own hands, exactly as we have instructed you;
1Th 4:12  So that you may walk honestly toward those who are without, and may not need anything from anyone.

Tit 2:1  But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
Tit 2:2  That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Tit 2:3  The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Tit 2:4  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Tit 2:5  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Tit 2:6  Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
Tit 2:7  In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
Tit 2:8  Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Tit 2:9  Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
Tit 2:10  Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
Tit 2:11  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tit 2:13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Tit 2:15  These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Mat 4:1  Then Jesus was led up into the wilderness by the Spirit in order to be tempted by the devil.
Mat 4:2  And when He had fasted for forty days and forty nights, afterwards He was famished.
Mat 4:3  And when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
Mat 4:4  But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ ”
Mat 4:5  Then the devil took Him to the holy city and set Him upon the edge of the temple,
Mat 4:6  And said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down; for it is written, ‘He shall give His angels charge concerning You, and they shall bear You up in their hands, lest You strike Your foot against a stone.’ ”
Mat 4:7  Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
Mat 4:8  After that, the devil took Him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory,
Mat 4:9  And said to Him, “All these things will I give You, if You will fall down and worship me.”
Mat 4:10  Then Jesus said to him, “Begone, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve.’ ”
Mat 4:11  Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

ph 5:1  Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
Eph 5:2  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
Eph 5:3  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Eph 5:4  Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Eph 5:5  For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Eph 5:6  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Eph 5:7  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
Eph 5:8  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Eph 5:9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Eph 5:10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
Eph 5:11  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Eph 5:12  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
Eph 5:13  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
Eph 5:14  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
Eph 5:15  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Eph 5:16  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Eph 5:17  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Eph 5:18  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Eph 5:19  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Eph 5:20  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Eph 5:21  Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph 6:20  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Jas 4:1  From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Jas 4:2  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Jas 4:3  Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Jas 4:4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Jas 4:5  Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Jas 4:6  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Jas 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Jas 4:9  Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Jas 4:10  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Jas 4:11  Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Jas 4:12  There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Boasting About Tomorrow
Jas 4:13  Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Jas 4:14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Jas 4:15  For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
Jas 4:16  But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
Jas 4:17  Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
