Elite Theory & The New Christian Right (Auron MacIntyre at the 2025 Christ Is King Conference)

--[ < 1 MIN READ]

Fifth session of the 2025 Christ is King Conference with Auron MacIntyre.

In this speech, the speaker explores why the U.S. Constitution failed to prevent modern tyranny, especially during events like COVID, and how power actually functions in America through a lens called elite theory. He argues that political power is always controlled by an organized minority — not by the disorganized majority. This minority maintains control by manipulating public opinion through media, academia, and bureaucratic institutions, forming what he calls a “soft tyranny.” He distinguishes between two types of elites: lions (strong, traditional, martial leaders) and foxes (clever, manipulative, bureaucratic rulers), claiming that modern America is dominated by foxes. The Constitution, he asserts, cannot protect freedoms unless it’s backed by strong social spheres like family, church, and local communities. As these have been hollowed out, the state has filled the void, rendering people dependent and easy to control. He calls for rebuilding Christian institutions, cultivating morally grounded elites, and rejecting the managerial, corporate mindset. True resistance, he concludes, will only arise from communities animated by Christian faith and tradition — not from neutrality, individualism, or trust in failing systems.
