This Chinese war epic depicts the Battle of Red Cliffs at the end of the Han dynasty, just before the Three Kingdoms period in imperial China. Prime Minister Cao Cao has convinced Emperor Han that in order to unite all of China, war must be waged on the kingdoms in the west and the south—two regions with an alliance.
